It is that time of year again -- when school administrators squirm as the latest NECAP scores are sent to schools and made public (check out all of the results at: http://reporting.measuredprogress.org/nhprofile/). Though we consider the results of the New England Common Assessment Program (NECAP), taken by our Grades 3-5 superstars, to be important feedback regarding the effectiveness of our academic program and our instructional techniques, it is also a reflection of your support for your child's education. The conversations that you have with your children about learning, as well as the experiences and environment that you afford them, have an enormous impact on their success in school. Also important to note, and you've heard this before, we consider test scores to be ONE indicator of student and school success here in Newfields. There are many ways that we cultivate student capacitities, encourage their curiosity, and celebrate excellence at NES. All this being said, NES students scored slightly above the SAU average (awfully good company to keep), and well above state averages once again this year.
